New update - Opera developer 57.0.3065.0
;-)
The change log, and the announcement.
"Because many of you suggested to make new Settings page more compact, we have decreased space between the sections. Please let us know if you like it.Also, we added the page zoom level indicator in the combined address and search bar. If you change the level of the page zoom, you will see a pop-up, informing you about it. You can then change the page’s zoom level by using +/- in the pop-up. If you have page zoom set to default for all pages, the zoom indicator won’t appear in the address bar, until you change the zoom on one of the pages.
You can adjust the page zoom level for all web pages by going to Settings > Basic > Appearance > Page zoom. If you have adjusted the zoom level for an individual website, go to Settings > Advanced > Privacy and security > Content settings > Zoom levels.
Moreover, we added some improvements to the new enhanced address bar, a feature where you can access your Speed Dial from the address bar while browsing. Check out the available tools for the enhanced address bar by going to Settings > Appearance > Manage Quick Access.
Known issues:
- DNA-72221 – Personal news doesn’t work on opera:news page.
- DNA-72230 – [Win] AU doesn’t work for current user installation.
- DNA-72207 – Not able to remove extensions.
- DNA-72198 – Unable to empty bookmarks trash.
- DNA-72239 – [Win] Dialog with update notification is shown.
- There's no .deb and .snap packages today."

Hi,
with new update introduce this google research box when clicking in address bar. As you can see in picture, my search site is duck duck go.
Please consider that some of us do not want to use google & cie sites.
The use of user selected search engine would be appreciated.
I personnely feel it should be user choice to have or not this popup.
Maybe it is already a choice, since i cannot find a flag for it ...Thank's

Hi leo !
Thank's for replying.
I downgraded opera to previous version 57.0.3072 and this is what i get when clicking in address bar
As you can see, there is a choice of search engines among those available on my system.
I should have been clearer in my previous comment ... it's a question of having the choice over imposing a search tool.

@leocg said in New Opera developer 57:
Nothing has changed, except that the icons no longer show up. You can still use the search engine of your choice in address bar.
Everything as change, those icons allowed me to search from a different provider than the selected one in settings ( duck duck go). I could select wiki instead of duck or yahoo bing etc ..
With this update i do not have that choice from the address bar anymore, what i get is an impose search provider.
So if i want to search in wikipedia i have to go in settings menu before doing the search ... that sound counter productive to me.

I guess you are the first person I see that use those icons, people usually use keywords in the address bar.
Your picture shows that DDG is being used for searching on address bar. As I said, the search field in the enhanced address bar is the one that you see in start page and hs nothing to do with your default search engine.

lol there is always a first.
I do not want to argue with you ... but i do not see google in my start page.
Opera was kind enought to put an option in settings to remove it from there, sooooooo anyways like you suggested i will use keywords.Thank's for replying and have a good one

Hi @loup001, as for now, there are two options for you:
1. being on the address bar press Esc, then down arrow,
or
2. go toopera:flags#better-address-bar
, disable it, and restart the Opera.
