Running Opera version 54.0.2952.41. This is a many years old request. To see an image I have to dowsload it.
Isn't this silly? What am I misunderstaning please? -

@angelolopes There is no such option.
Images should just open in Opera. What kind of image it is?

I know some sites have download links for images (Flickr for example) but they generally also allow you to view at least a screen-sized version (if the original is too large). If you're clicking on a download link then that is what will happen, and there is no easy way to override it.

Thanks for you reply. jpegs and png
Is there a reason for Opera NOT to change this behaviour?

@angelolopes Most of the times it's just the website sending wrong information.
Here, images usually open in Opera.

@leocg Thanks. Silly me. When I click the link, Opera immediately ask where to save the file. I know I can change this and it will not prompt where to save, but I did not analyse the link and the links on this website are not pointing to the images.
An example. Link text is "Screenshot 2018-07-01 16.31.26.png", and it links to https://gestao.webhs.pt/clientes/dl.php?type=ar&id=188543&i=0My apologies. Hopefully this post will help any other members...
