Speed Dial folders - no small icons in folder preview anymore?

Turned on Opera 53 (yes!) today - had a mess:

Speed Dial folders normally had shown the icons of links inside the folders in smaller form. Now only the standard folder icon will be shown anymore. I had only up to 4 entries per folder so it worked great.

Bookmarks bar has again all the new "standard" entries.

Then selected Opera / About ... check-for-update did run .. Opera 54 available ... installed - no fix.

Using Opera since version 6.
