Can't override certificate error

In my environment I often need to access (internal) sites which only have local, self-signed certificates. Opera does not allow me to override certificates anymore and even when I install a certificate it does not accept it.
Please implement a trust-me-I-know-what-I'm-doing flag (or similar) to allow people like me to just accept whatever is presented because we already know the source and can take appropriate actions ourselves.
It is good to present warnings but to completely disallow access frustrates me.
Current version is 53.0.2907.99 on Linux Mint 18.3

@loup001 Unfortunately it does not provide a solution. I just want a proceed button on the certificate warning page to continue to the site. Let me make the decision, not the browser, Opera team or anybody else.
I don't want to install certificates, I mentioned it in the original post because even installing a certificate wont get me beyond the restriction.
