How to return alt + spacebar to minimize window

Alt + spacebar is the universal Windows key combination for minimizing a window. Suddenly Opera is trying to offer me Google search when I press this, and my window is not functioning as expected.

I want my basic operating system function back when using Opera. How do I get rid of this key combination summoning Google, which I NEVER use, and recover the normal function of my operating system?

Change Instant Search to something else. Go to Settings > Browser > Shortcuts, click on Configure shortcuts, find where it says "Open and close Instant Search" and change the existing shortcut.

Thank you. Below my thread I found another thread dealing with this issue. I went to Settings and completely disabled instant search.

I strongly advise the design team to consider not interfering with basic operating system keyboard shortcuts. Many rely on these basic keyboard shortcuts. I would not use equipment nor software that prevents me from using them.

Forcing the user to spend time fiddling with settings to restore basic operating system functionality is not reasonable. If the design team wants to use an existing keyboard shortcut for a new feature, offer the user the choice to do so before implementing it on the local machine. All I got was a popup telling me what had happened, with no choice offered.

In Linux, it is impossible to override system shortcuts - the system gets them before your program. Not certain how Macs handle it - but if they want to be consistent across platforms they need to change it.
