Google is set as default engine, but when i search for something starting with "b spline" forgetting the dash character, the setting is overridden and bing is used.. How to disable this overriding syntax?

@humlebee I don't think you can do it.

Nothing you can do after the fact, but, if you're able to remember, you can type g b spline to work around it.

In Opera Developer, if you enable opera://flags/#new-md-settings, you can edit the bing searche's keyword and change it from "b" to "bing.com" for example. But, it'll get reset on startup. And, there's no guarantee that Opera won't block the editing of the keyword that way too.

If you don't mind always doing a quoted search, you can type "term" to work around it.

I was going to say that you could enable the separate search field in the address bar (turn on "show advanced preferences" to see the setting), but "b spine" still triggers bing, lol.

This issue was recently posted at https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/83aq72/how_do_i_stop_opera_from_changing_search_engines/ too.
