New to the Opera community , I have been running the now dated Opera version 12.16
because on my own I have not been able to find out weather or not the new versions of Opera still have that feature which is incredibly important to me.
The question therefore for the community is : Do the new versions import mail ?
This feature is more important to me than the many other features Opera offers.
I welcome any comments and suggestions and offer sincere thanks to anyone who can provide me with an accurate anwer

Sincere thanks in advance to anyone who may answer my question

Current versions of Opera do not include a mail client, so obviously they do not import mail ...

Thank you for your reply. I find it incredibly disappointing that Opera developers stopped including the email import feature. For me it remains the most attractive feature of Opera even using 12.16, without the email feature Opera is only a notch better than the old Explorer . For a couple of decades I have been a loyal user and campaigner for using what was likely the best browser ever, without support or updates or even able to download the themes that used to be available , for users like me there is little left to do other than switch to browsers like Firefox / Thunderbird.

@365gtb There isn't much sense in (keep) developing something that is barely used nowadays.

You can set Opera 12.16 to open in your default browser. "Alt + p -> Advanced -> Programs". Add/set http and https to "open with default application".

Opera also has a standalone Opera Mail client at http://www.opera.com/computer/mail. It's Opera 12 with all the browser stuff hidden so it acts as just a mail client. It automatically launches links in messages in the default browser. It's experimental and has a few bugs, but it works in general.

Also, if you want to click on a link in an email to launch it in your browser and have Opera still be focused, just alt + tab after you click the link.

Of course, Thunderbird works just fine. And, they're working on a built-in mail client in Vivaldi. It's just available in public builds yet.
