    Facebook videos not working on Opera 36

      I'm stuck using WinXP because I can't afford win10, so I can only upgrade to Opera 36, ok my problem is when I try to watch a vieo in Facebook It doesn't play. I right click to see what flash player I'm using it doesn't show a version, it just shows....Play Mute Show Video Url.....Thank you for your advice...

        Probably not even using Flash then, more likely HTML5. So then Play doesn't work?

          Facebook uses HTML5 for video now (one can embed flash from other sites though sometimes). If the videos don't play, it's a hardware and or OS issue.

          You can go to opera://gpu and opera://media-internals and ctrl + shift + i and look at the console for errors.

            Same here with Opera 36 on XP.
            I suspect that it relies on codecs built into the OS that XP just doesn't have. Strange that it isn't falling back to the Flash Player though, which it does on Firefox if the codec isn't available.
            Also strange that HTML5 playback on YouTube seems to be working fine, at least for me!

              @davehawley Yep, that's it. Due to licensing issues, Opera depends on the OS to play some codecs/formats and XP doesn't support most of them as far as I know.
