As already discussed in several other topics, it's a Chromium issue and probably will be fixed with the release of Opera 50.

Haven't had time to take in all of the other topics. I just signed up after finding the topic most relevant to my issue for the purpose of confirmation. So this is my second comment on this forum.

As far as it being a Chromium issue, I can't say. I couldn't tell you the difference between Chromium, Chrome or Opera other than the two latter are based on the first, I prefer the third over the second and that the password issue affects the third but not the second.

Since I know nothing of the Chromium, Chrome has no issue with passwords and Opera does, from my perspective, it's an Opera issue.

Since Opera is my preferred browser, I look forward to having it fixed. In the meantime could someone please suggest a way to retrieve my passwords.

The issue was also mentioned on Desktop Team blog, what is kinda of a mandatory reading for someone using an Opera Developer build.
And without saying that search to see if the subject has already been covered is the first rule on the forum.

Chrome also had the same issue - I tested it here a while ago with the same result.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a way to see your passwords but you still should be able to use them.

Actually, I did search through several threads (10-ish) and this was the only one which mentioned the issue and your comment was the only one which mentioned the possible fix. I don't have the time to look through scores of threads in order to avoid violating your "first rule". I'm not any sort of tech person, I just like the way Opera works (save this issue) and was looking for a solution.

Regarding your having the same issue with Chrome, I just now tested mine once again and again had no issue. My version is 62.0.3202.94

So sorry, if I've violated some rule, spoken or not, it was not my intent. Nor was controversy my intent. I was just looking for help. I'll probably just put my passwords to pen and paper and throw it in the safe...

FWIW, I am using Opera build 49.0.2725.39 on a MacBook Pro running High Sierra. Just tried to access the passwords saved on Opera and was able to successfully do so.

I'm using windows 10 and cannot access my passwords on Chrome OR Opera. When will it be fixed? Or is this just another way to force pc users to HAVE to use windows stuff?

I was having the same problem with Opera 49.0.2725.47 (I was sure my details - username and password - were correct) and I couldn't find a fix for it. However I 've just installed Opera Developer (Opera Beta 50.0.2762.18) and I can see all the passwords without a problem using the email and password I use to log in Windows 10.

Well... The problem is not fixed, but it's a temporary solution.

I decided to try the new Firefox Quantum while waiting for a new version of Opera to fix this problem. The new version is quite nice. I love Opera and haven't ruled out using it again. But I've added new bookmarks while using Firefox and although I keep exporting them to Opera, while waiting for an update, I'm getting weary. Tick Toc. lol

I've been having the same issue trying to show passwords with Opera 49. Thought I was losing my mind as I was sure the correct computer password I entered was correct. As a test I just installed Opera beta 50 and it is working fine there. Glad to see it's resolved in the new release!

Solved in Opera 50. So topic closed as solved. If in up until to a month the author needs the thread to be reopened, just report it. briefly explaining the reason.
