Does the address change? That is, I've seen some cases where an and fails to load and I get redirected to the ad's address - I think the and is trying to defeat the content blocker but failing.

Of course, if you're seeing that on all sites then you would have an aware problem - either a bad extension or some aware outside Opera.

If the address is correct but you still see nothing, might still be an extension of some sort. Particularly one that tries to restyle the page.

        Thank you....

Have just clicked "amazon" toolbar link ... this is what comes up in URL line ....
        https://www.amazon.co.uk/?tag=operadesktop14-sd-uk-21
then page goes blank, in a flash

So, have just typed in first bit 'https://www.amazon.co.uk
        and it did the same!

        Does this info help?

        Best wishes

Since the address didn't change, see about disabling your extensions if you have any.

Sorry, you're dealing with a fairly old one here ... I assume you mean Extensions on OPERA ... please advise how I check what, if any, extensions I have?

            Sorry to be a der!

Have been a-looking.... found a list of extensions (sorry about that, at first hunt I only saw 'add extension'!)
Extensions that are list are ALL 'UNENABLED' (i.e. it say 'click' to enable)

              Duck Duck Go
              Ghosery
              PDF Viewer
              You Tube Downloader

But, as I say, NONE are 'active' - they all say 'click to enable'....
Do hope this helps give a clue!!

              MANY THANKS
              Pippa x

On the main menu, click on Extensions > Extensions and click on the Disable button for each, then try reloading the page.

Of those extensions you list it is most likely to be Ghostery - that's the only one that should be blocking anything.

                      Thank you sgunhouse!
Sorry have been a bit slow to get back to you on this. There are 4 extensions, and they are all DISABLED. (BTW, it used to work fine, WITH Ghostery) ... so I'm thinking I must have done something stoooopid, somewhere else?!

Just tested again, with several different websites. As before, they start to come up with home page, then the screen goes white. No, the verbiage in the URL bar thing, stays the same.

The things that's weird, it happened to both my iMac and my MBP, at around the same time. [both on OS 10.7.5 - Lion. They are NOT 'connected'.

Here's hoping you or someone can work-out if it's something I've done (tho' me doing same thing on 2 diff computers, v. unlikely (!), or is it something else!

                      Thank you all,
                      Fingers crossed xx

Go to the page, click on the shield icon in the address bar and allow ads on that page, then hit the Reload button - see what that does. A disappearing page happens when the stylesheets or javascript are blocked; if it isn't Ghostery then it is either the and blocker or some external program with a similar function.

                          @sgunhouse

                          Dear sgunhouse,

                          You are a STAR.

Have clicked ok to cookies - all fine
So, gone in and reclicked Ghostery - all fine

So, I'm guessing it didn't like me saying 'no cookies'! (coz, even crumbs, I don't like, but hey!!)

I can't thank you enough - using alt browers, were doing my head in!

                          BIG, BIG THANK YOU 🙂
                          xx
