Slow to Open Programs

For the past few days I'm having to wait a long time for a website to open - this is happening with any sites I visit including Gmail. I assume this is an Opera problem because I tried using Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer and they were both OK. Anyone else having this problem? I'm using Windows 8 on a four year old Lenovo notebook and Opera Version 48.0.2685.35 installed on October 5. Thank you.

Were you using Opera before, or is it a new install? Some "internet security suites" can act differently towards different programs and may not recognize Opera - you may need to tell it that Opera should be allowed to access the web.

No, not new at all. I've been using Opera for several years. Thank you.
