How to change search engine on Speed Dial?

I got rid of all Google search engines for DuckDuckGo and just noticed Speed Dial keeps on insisting on Google no matter what. How do I replace Google search on Speed Dial with search engine of my choice?

on the french version of Opera, the link "speed dials" are not proposing to remove Google.
Can u understand that some people do not want to work with google ?

You don't - you disable the speed dial search or you leave it where it is.
HOW!? There is no such setting. I've changed start behavior when you open browser, but that doesn't affect opening new empty tabs...

I had a look in the advance settings and I don't believe there is an option to replace google search engine with another search engine of your choice on speed dial. You can change the default search engine in Opera advance settings but does bugger all in the speed dial settings.

There isn't. The search in Start Page is fixed and not related to the one used on address field.
In Settings you can hide the search field.

By trickidy trick extensions SD search engine perhaps could be changed.
As far as I'm aware Opera devs might in process/considering opening that feature for users to set they're preferred search engine.
You can always set your preferred search engine as "bookmarklet" as speed dial entry. Or favorites bar entry - where you can access them quick I dunno if one could even paste search keyword to such entry on favorites bar?
I have new ext coming out soon that is, well yes, Google search from omnibox, but always uses google.com and always uses encrypted.google.com (even with images, maps etc).

Stuff like this would be so simple to fix, and people really care about them. I'm trying to find reasons for using Opera over Firefox, but details like this just make me think... "maybe not!"
