Is there any way to override a web page's background colors so it can be either changed or removed completely clientside?

Some pages I need to reference regularly are nearly unreadable with dark text on a dark background.

I am using 47 on an Intel Atom based netbook running 32 bit Windows 7 Pro.

So even after discovering and using the "Konami Code" to bring up so called power user options, I am not seeing any way to do a background override, something I thought was industry standard on browsers nowadays.

Even more frustrating, I tried NoSquint Plus for Opera, and even after changing backgrounds in the plugin's preferences, the settings seem to get ignored and I am still stuck with the author's asinine colors. That is a real shame, since I have enjoyed using NS Plus on Firefox with no issues, yet the Opera version seems to be broken and does nothing.

Any other suggestions for plugins that should give me back control of how I view web pages?

        Maybe using an extension.

Several extensions can override the page CSS to allow you to change fonts, formatting, backgrounds or whatever. Search for CSS or stylesheet in the extension catalog.

And NoSquint Plus ended up doing what I needed after all. Turns out it was working, but one particular page I downloaded to be able to reference locally without needing to be online was simply resisting everything I could throw at it.

My solution was to find the entry in its html file that set the background and change it to 000000. Now the page is behaving the way I want it to, and is actually readable.
