Bookmarks are gone

So after a recent windows basic update all of my bookmarks and speed dial page have disappeared. Im using windows 7 and i would really appreciate any help in getting all of the bookmarks back.

Most probably you are using a different profile folder than before. Go to %appdata% on Windows Explorer, search for 'bookmarks' and see if you find some entry in an Opera related folder other than the one being used currently.

Go to Menu > About Opera and take note of the path to the profile folder.

In Windows Explorer type %appdata% and then search for 'bookmarks'. See if you find anything that's not in the current profile folder.

Then probably your profile folder got broken on the upgrade and Opera replaced it.

Try again, make sure you're set to show hidden files in the results. But if that fails, then yes you're out of luck.
