On Windows 7/64-bit build. Opera version 47.0.2631.39.

Every time I launch the browser the installer opens up. Regardless of if I click yes or no to the updater it does nothing. It is quite annoying. Deleted the installer from the Opera source does nothing. Upon doing that I just get an error when opening the browser. Is there any reason for this? Any workarounds, etc?

Check your shortcut to open Opera. Right click on it and select Properties. It should be running launcher.exe. If not, try running launcher.exe directly from File Explorer. If that works, change the shortcut.

I have tried that. It will open up the browser as normal, but the installer still launches with it. The shortcut is targeting the launcher. Using the launcher in the direct folder still has the same issue. I think it's a glitch or something with the auto-updater.

I have also tried running it in administrator but I'm still getting the same issue.

            Broken installation maybe?

            Any workarounds, etc?

Did you try un-installing and then re-installing Opera?
