Why is the text unreadable

Version: 46.0.2597.39 (PGO) - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 10 64-bit
I prefer Opera above all browsers, refuse to install chrome, and hate to use IE.
Am I the only one who has noticed with webpages opened in Opera that the majority of the text is in blurry pale text in a blue-grey that is impossible to read?? If I cut & paste the same link into IE it is visibly clearer, and slightly darker, though still annoyingly anaemic of colour.
If I fiddle with graphics display settings I might be able to get a bit more contrast, but it skews a lot of my other programs so is not the way to go.
Suggestions??? -

On some systems, Opera's "hardware acceleration" settings do not play well with ClearType (how Windows renders fonts on high resolution devices). Either disabling hardware acceleration in Opera or else tweaking the ClearType settings in Windows should resolve the issue.
