Opera Extensions Missing

I installed Opera about a month back, and have been using it as my primary web browser. When I first installed it, I also installed several extensions to help me enjoy my experience, and when I went to open my browser today, all of my extensions were missing. I can reinstall a few of them, but chiefly was a bookmarks manager, seeing as all I could find for this browser was a toolbar that didn't hold all of my bookmarks. I've lost valuable information, and I want to know if there is any way to reset, or go back to when my browser had all of my extensions.
More importantly, I want to know if this can happen again, because if I'm in danger of losing all of my information every time I close opera, then people should know that this is a problem.

It never happened to me. I use Tidy Bookmarks that I got in the Chrome store, and it works fine for me as a bookmarks manager. Other people use different ones. On going back, I'm not sure. If you use Windows, maybe a system restore going back to when you had the extensions working.
Why don't you first try to re-download the bookmarks manager extension, if you haven't already. The bookmark manager may find all of your bookmarks. If it doesn't, other than the possibility of a System Restore -- and I don't know if it would work -- I'm at a loss.
On the backup, I guess it's your profile you'd back up. I'm guessing that's where the extensions are. If I'm wrong, I hope someone posts a correction.

It could have been an outdated CCleaner version's fault.
Reinstall the extensions you had to access your bookmarks, they're not lost.

More importantly, I want to know if this can happen again, because if I'm in danger of losing all of my information every time I close opera, then people should know that this is a problem.Just happened to me all extensions are gone every time i open the browser - very annoying, i will use another one if cant get a fix. This service is not good.
