Proof of ignorance

How can someone afford to mark a thread as solved without approval of the thread originator as happened here https://forums.opera.com/topic/20587/solved-cannot-add-own-file-with-custom-rules-into-the-inbuilt-ad-blocker/7
It's an obvious proof of ignorance. I'm extremely disappointed and gonna to leave Opera. I have been using Opera for many years since version 8 or so and I never encountered such arrogant behaviour.

Well playing Devil's Advocate a bit here, if the moderators feel that a thread has gone as far as it can go, they do have a right to close it to stop any further additions possibly confusing it and making it less useful for reference in the future.
You obviously don't think that your issue had been addressed properly, but beyond suggesting that by far the most likely problem was that the rule you were trying to import was not in the correct format, I don't see what else could have been suggested.
I do have to say that it's a bit of an over-reaction IMO to abandon the browser simply because of what one moderator on its forum has done!

I have had a quick look at your thread. Your custom list is most likely missing the first line which must state
[Adblock Plus 2.0]
. The rest of the rules will work if they are in the universal format originally introduced by Adblock Plus. Regex is supported too.If you share your rules, I will have a look for you and apply corrections if required.
