@jarmush Most Windows machines (especially laptops with discrete graphics) have difficulties handling sleep and hibernate correctly, but I see no reason for it to cause a complete reset of your web browser. So, I am rather eager to know what caused it.

@las7er Oh, no! What happened, brother?

For the exactly same reason? If not then please open a new topic.

My computer with a Opera crash was a new desktop with dedicated graphics card. I also have a laptop with Windows 10 and Opera as my prefered browser. The laptop I never have had any trouble with, and it's using Intels integrated graphics.

Now I have disabled sleep and hibernate mode on my new computer, just in case "the Opera crash" is a problem related to this topic in Windows 10.

Today all my settings (bookmarks and spead dials) disappeared after starting my computer from sleeping mode.
On the screen a message open with the message "An error occured and all my settings was deleted", or something like that.

Did you close the browser before going to bed or did you leave it "running". It might make a difference! I would definitely close anything connecting to the Internet before ACTUALLY disconnecting all at once by the 'sleeping mode'.

Now you are asking a difficult question.
Usually I close the browser when I leave my computer, so I guess I did that this time too, but one hundred percent sure I'm not.

I can't remember if the error message about Opera was the first thing I saw on my screen after waking the computer from sleeping mode, or if the error message showed up when I was trying to start Opera.

                Sorry for my bad memory.

You seem a little confused Josh ... Sleep mode (also called Hibernate) is a power-saving mode on the computer, not something involving "going to bed". Most laptops and many desktops will switch to Sleep mode if left alone for about half an hour, and laptops will sleep any time you close the cover as well. Or you can choose it manually from the shut down menu.

Here, I've had no problems returning to the wake state from Sleep mode or Hibernation (Deeper Sleep mode state), "cross fingers". xD

I've used it mostly every night without problems.

Steve, the author said sleeping, so it was.

I now remembered there've been confusions about these terminologies, especially when translating terms from one language to another.

Well, on my Android tablet I only seem to have 2 modes - shut off and whatever it is about sleeping OR waiting mode (the latter is million miles from saving energy though).
And I remember there are two "whatever" modes on my Windows netbook other than shut down the whole thing, and indeed it was some confusion even with the hotline technicians I talked to some time ago.

I guess when the workstation goes snoozy after some inactivity, it is not the deep sleep. Though I can't guarantee I'm guessing right, nor I remember it exactly: I haven't used any such mode for years due to the fact that my battery had died and I'm wiring it from the power socket all the time (there are "electric" profiles here to customise and choose).

Well, there are two ways to call it:

                      1. they are a) waiting mode and b) sleeping mode; or
                      2. they are a) sleeping mode and b) hybernation mode.
So which way do we use here?

                        An small clarification:

Sleep and Hibernation also works with AC Power, it's not just intended to work with battery only, but High Perfomance Power Plan doesn't go to Sleep or Hibernation.

Just Power saver and Balanced Power plans has Sleep and Hibernation enabled.
