The topic "Master Password" (https://forums.opera.com/topic/15120/master-password) had been closed, for some reason; w/o (really) being resolved!..

The old Opera had been able to protect the Password Manager - like any normal browser should be able to do:

Edit: This can, easily, be added to the most ridiculous Opera features list - along with not being notified when closing a window with multiple tabs; right!?

Just browsing for this issue, found a broken link on the old system, the page @http://help.opera.com/Windows/12.00/en/password.html links to a master password & there's a typo in the link: "certficates", instead of "certificates".

Oic., NVM., got it! The Edit (30 minutes) option is from the original time of the post, not counting the edits.

It was a old topic and it belongs to Suggestions Box as it is a feature request/suggestion. And this is the reason for this one being closed too.
