The forum moderator (?) leocg, apparently, wasn't bothered to -even- move the topic over to this forum (and had, just, locked it - so that I can't even inquire about it), so... I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing (!); hope that I'm in the right spot, now.
Started a topic called Master Password v2 to try and get an answer to the previously-closed -unresolved- topic, Master Password.
It's the many-times asked (and answered, without presenting a viable solution) question about Opera not having a master password to lock and protect its Password Manager.
Are there any secure alternatives (such as an Extension, or something); a solution which doesn't compromise security?.. Mainly because why would we trust a 3rd-party to add browser components which handle our sensitive data (the PWDs).
^^ For example, an (main) email account can be used to recover all sorts of passwords: for credit cards, various (online) credentials and so on. This missing feature is the number one reason preventing me (and, surely, many other users as well?) from using Opera as the main browser, on the computer. Just looking for a way to do this, that's all!..:)
Thank you! (In advance, please let me know if - anything)
P.S.
Other browsers, such as Firefox (as well as old(er) Opera versions), have always had this:
There are strange errors with Barclays and it seems to be getting worse.
Btw., that's crazy-talk (probably nothing to do w/Barclays); because, if you're using the same Windows (10) version and the -same- latest version of Opera - it can only mean that you've, actually, gotten different Operas installed... Whichever Chromium installer your setup (file) had come from, heh.
The insane number of versions and variations of the browser(s) being offered for download, from the original web site, isn't cool (any moar). One FTP (mirror, source, online /offline) installer being different from another - just, why.
Are you, maybe, bothered to look up the user-agent strings?.. They're on the opera://about/ pages (Like the OP had posted - I'm just being curious).
Edit:
For both, try with a Clean Profile, here is the "How to" Frequently Asked Questions (Opera for Windows).
^^ Didn't mean to spam, or create confusion, the above post would be the solution, btw.
LOL, a (random?!) file that's 4.66GB in size, pftt. Not that long ago, really, it used to be a 1/4, or a tenth of a HDD; on some ~20GB to 40GB Seagate and /or Western Digital drives.
Anyway, it being a regular file is kinda funny; what sort of a deranged developer would -even- consider this being an option, whatsoever..:)
... What "Opera directory" would that be ^^ in Program Files (x86)? Trying to locate it on my PC, but I'm unable to find any -such- gigantic space-wasters hear (although, there are quite a lot of 0 bytes files which are just as mysterious. :)); not finding teh profile\data folder, either, ugh.

Ugh, suddenly, I'm not authorized to view this page when trying to edit my topic? o.0
Edit:
Oic., NVM., got it! The Edit (30 minutes) option is from the original time of the post, not counting the edits.
-44 Views is interesting, though!
The topic "Master Password" (https://forums.opera.com/topic/15120/master-password) had been closed, for some reason; w/o (really) being resolved!..
This discussion has been closed.
The old Opera had been able to protect the Password Manager - like any normal browser should be able to do:

Dunno, what happened. o.0
Edit: This can, easily, be added to the most ridiculous Opera features list - along with not being notified when closing a window with multiple tabs; right!?
Here's the screenshot, https://image.ibb.co/cxEnva/Settings.png
P.S.
Just browsing for this issue, found a broken link on the old system, the page @http://help.opera.com/Windows/12.00/en/password.html links to a master password & there's a typo in the link: "certficates", instead of "certificates".
See the video link, from the above page, is also gone (http://www.opera.com/browser/tutorials/video/passwordsync/)
For SoundCloud, Opera comes up with the message:
"It looks like you have a Flash blocker enabled. Please disable the Flash blocker to hear this track."
... Even though I'm not blocking. Anyway, fixed with the exception!
Hi, guys!..:)
The original topic, "Flash blocker ?" (from August 2014) is locked; @https://forums.opera.com/topic/4786/flash-blocker
Here's how to do that, enable SoundCloud (add the exception!); Go to opera://settings/ and search for "Flash" & then Manage exceptions...
From there, follow the example to add SoundCloud: [*.]soundcloud.com

Inform yourself by searching instead of just saying: "dunno if I'm even (sic) BOTHERED to find out what's going on."
Actually, it's right there - in the first sentence of this thread (which, also, I had quoted in my reply :)), Chromium (& I was STILL blind to read it, lolz!).
AnyWHO, problem solved! ;-P
P.S.
Seriously, though, did NOT realize how Opera had switched-over to teh Chromium engine.. & last night, needed a quick .mht web page save; but, instead, went on an epic journey - to nowhere - only to find out how one of the BEST browsers, that there ever was, was disintegrated and turned into ****
Itβs now been over a year since Opera [..]
What are you talking about, I just installed Opera_Developer_26.0.1655.0_Setup.exe & saw that it's finished.. The path they went down, on - ever since 12.x basically means that Opera's over, done 4. I guess I thought how they're, maybe, tryin' out some new features, or SOMETHING, but this thing that's running on my screen.. Is funny, lol.
JavaScripts settings are gone, like they're trying to do-away, with, in Firefox (a/k/a 'SettingSanity' Add-on, for Mozilla); teh proxy settings are now shared w/MSIE, in Windblow$; opera://config - WHATever, there isn't -even- a settings page, w/parameters (like the about:config, in Firefox; like Opera USED to have), that's easily accessible (searching 4 it, now, but, who knows, maybe it doesn't even exist)
.. Meh, dunno if I'm even BOTHERED to find out what's going on.
