Opera creates 7(!!!) opera.exe processes in the task manager

  • and right now there are actually 11 opera.exe processes running.

WHAT THE FUCK? Bye Opera. Hello Firefox.

  • Opera is using Chrome Engine which use independent tabs, therefore each tab or extension will have a process.

  • As said, Opera uses one process for the browser itself, one for each extension you have, opne for each page/site opened, one for plugins and so on.

You can see the list of processes using Opera's task manager.

  • I actually find this very useful. If one tab uses too much memory and causes the browser to freeze up I can just end that process and keep on browsing. In other browsers I would have to force close the whole browser.

Ok, bye, we see you again after Mozilla implements Electrolysis in Firefox...
Have a good time until then.
