The Opera icon in my taskbar sometimes turns red, for reasons I have not identified. Right now for example, I'm not doing anything in particular.

      Why would that be?

Windows 10, Opera 43 (but it was also happening with earlier versions)

Does the menu already turned red? If so then there is indication that there is a new build to be installed/downloaded.

It also can mean that there is a broken download on the download list.

Task bar icon turns red (in Win 7 anyway) if you are downloading a file and there is an error that stops the download. There might be other times as well, but that's the one I've seen.

            @ leocg
No, the Menu wasn't red and I hadn't downloaded anything in days. In fact, I had noticed it can turn red during downloading, but that wasn't it.

            @ sgunhouse
I'm using Windows 10, not 7 and, as I said above, I wasn't downloading anything.

And I inform that after restarting this morning it's back to normal.

              ADDENDUM!

I've just remembered, I had downloaded some small images, which I do all the time. But now looking at the downloads, one of them indeed didn't finish (the server could not find the file). So that must have been it.

The thread can be marked as SOLVED.
