Problems with Java

I recently updated Java (Version 8, Update 121) on my Mac (OS X 10.11.6) But when trying to verify JAVA via https://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp the following message appears:
We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser. If you have installed Java and there is an error with the verification, there could be a configuration issue (eg. browser, Java control panel, security settings) or the Java plug-in is blocked by the browser. Try restarting your browser before trying to verify the installation again, and check that the browser allows Java to run.
I do allow JavaScript on all sites as recommended in the settings (Opera version 43.0.2442.806) as well as browser Java-content in the Java Control Panel.

Hello @remilino. The Oracle Java plugin doesn't work with browsers like Opera and Chrome, because the plugin architecture it uses is no longer supported. If you really need to display a Java applet (note that this is not the same as Javascript, and there are very few sites left using Java applets), you'll have to use Safari.

Thank you, avl! Do you know if ebay.com is one of these sites requiring Java?

The source code says, that only Javascript is needed (which is enabled in my Opera settings). Maybe I just have a sort of caching issues that cause CSS problems. I made a short screen video to show what I mean: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ku6b5fo9x7ejyue/ebay.mov?dl=0 Any idea whats going on here?

Same problem here. With version 42 on my notebook the website works. With version 43 on my desktop pc don´t. With Chrome and Firefox the same page works. Only v43 makes problems.
