Opera uses wrong search engine

Hi All,

When typing search word in the address bar Opera alwayzs uses google.NL , but I wisg to use google.COM

Where / how do I change this ?

Version: 40.0.2308.62 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 10 32-bit

Try editing the file 'Local State' and change the country code in the following lines:

"location":{"country":"br","country_from_server":"BR","timestamp":"1478033905600000000"}

It's in Opera's profile folder. You can check Menu > About Opera for the path.

It's not a bug. Anyway there have been some complaints about it since the beginning of Opera Blink.

I think it IS a bug. Opera sets a default country without asking what country that should be.

I few dayz ago I bought a new Win10 latop. I set it up for the englisch language and picked US as my area.

But again Opera uses google.nl as the default search engine.

Changing the Locat State files did not fix the issue this time.

The contry info line looks like this

{"country":"US","country_from_server":"US","timestamp":"1491210053600000000"},"partner_content":

Any suggestions how to make Opera use google.com instead of a local version ?

Leave the timestamp alone when you change the other two values. If the timestamp is too old, it should check again.
