Beta 41.0.2246.11033 Android 5.1 Ellipsis 10 tablet in Tablet mode

There may be a new security exploit that affects this beta. While doing a Google search, something added an icon to my Speed Dial entitled Breaking News. The icon ponted to the URL below.

Um,,I haven't got any updates since June. Funny enough, my friend's opera updated a while ago, and I'm still with the old version (37). The playstore shows the screenshots and info for the new version. However. When I scroll down to the bottom, it says version 37 updated on June 15.-) I'm on S7 Edge.

          You mean 37 beta?

No, it doesn't say beta. I don't have a beta installed at all. It is just that. The pics and info are for the new version, but the version I end up downloading and see at the bottom is from June 15. Uninstalling doesn't help it either.

Assist application? What's the point of this option? It just opens Google now app and that's all...

I guess this is an Android's menu.

Long pressing the + button could you make the special 3 vertical tab button deprecated on mobile phones using tablet mode.

Furthermore only since the overhaul started of the user interface months ago, Opera Beta has micro stutter when scrolling. Both on my Galaxy Note 2 and Note 10.

The official not a beta has no micro stutter when scrolling. It is annoying so I use Opera Beta to explore new features but I use the official non beta since that has no micro stutter.

I like the new overhaul but sincerely hope it is debug remnants or something like that causing Opera Beta micro stutter even on the simplest sites.

It started with the first overhaul beta release.

This is awful! Why can't I just have my Speed Dial page, not all these 'channels' which I can't remove!? I didn't ask for them! This is just fiddling with the UI for no gain. Put Speed Dial back as it was, or at least let me get rid of ALL the channels on the home page except SD.

Do you plan to return possibility to turn on/off data saving easily (not this way, hidden in settings only)? It was, for me, really useful feature while I often switch between wifi (data saving off) and mobile data (data saving on).

I agree. This is needed for internet hotspots as well as you can't connect to them if you have a VPN on -in this case data savings, which you have to temporarily turn off/on- or when you want to access your mobile data plan and you can't because of Opera's data savings (different IP range). Don't underestimate the usefulness of an easily accessible switch as it was before, please 🙂 Maybe as an additional icon in the lower bar (power off, settings, data savings switch, close)

All in all, the browser is shaping up pretty well, with the nice red colour concept, the more consistent design, translate page, animations and Olaf, gratz! 🆙
                                  Waiting for more.

The new UI is rather distracting, but by far the biggest issue is the home button. Instead of taking me back to the Speed Dial on my current tab, it takes me to the Speed Dial on Tab 1. I have 90+ tabs, this means I go from Tab 90 to Tab 1 just to use the Speed Dial - and it doesn't close the tab! This makes the Speed Dial useless. It makes the whole reason for using Opera useless.

Please make a change to this. I regret updating the app. The new settings button is so confusing compared to the old one, which was compact and easy to use.

This is so unusable, it's such a bad change.

Why did you move some of the settings from the bottom button to a top overflow button?? The overflow button isn't supposed to be used! The settings button now is huge, expands over the whole screen, and yet has less information in it. I USE Opera because I can access what I need to from the bottom of the screen. Now you've split the bottom button into TWO buttons, and put all the important things at the top! What's the point of this?! Do you just want me to use Chrome? I don't want this kind of UI, that's why I use Opera.

The logic behind this decision is mind-numbing. I'd love for someone to explain it to me - why split the button in half and then make it very messy? I want the search option on the bottom right button, create a new UI option if you have to.

Hi, thanks for giving feedback! We will investigate this and see what we can find regarding the stutter issue.

                                        Sorry for 1 star rating,

"Microstutter when scrolling. Samsung phone and tablet 1.6 Ghz 4 CPU cores 2 Gigabytes RAM. Do not update unless you enjoy sadist yourself. Old version was 5 stars!"

                                        I will change it into

"Microstutter is being investigated" Then I will give it 4 stars again. Then I will uninstall it and reinstall previous version.

I off course tried clean install.

Thanks @personal1985. Trust us it's important for us that the browsing experience should be smooth for our users.

Everyone else that are asking about the data savings button and home tab logic, both of these issues are under review and we are looking at improving the user experience in both of these cases.

It's great to see big passion you have about the product, and we thank you for being with us during this new stage of the product!

                                            I hate the new update, the default font and icon size is way to small for my tablet. Plus since I am visually impaired I literally am getting a headache from trying to write this ;; ;; ;_;

Please add a way to adjust the size thanks.
