Hi Opera Team, currently using version 39.0.2256.48 (5th August 2016). Received TWO updates same day September 2016, so which of the following updated versions is correct please? Version 39.0.2256.71 (8th September 2016 at 10:31am) OR version 39.0.2256.71(underscore)0 (8th September 2016 at 10:57am)? In programs it has auto updated to version 2256.71, so what is the other version ending 2256.71(underscore)0? I've checked all over but can't find any reference to it. Thank you for a great desktop browser. Could do with another update for operamini windowsphone please.

so what is the other version ending 2256.71(underscore)0?

It means that one update attempt has failed so Opera download/installed it again.

Just don't remember now if the one with the underscore is the newest or the one that has failed.

Hi leocg - I thought it may be a failed download, though usually the system may (or may not) tell the user an update has failed (similar to failed updates on Microsoft Security Essentials).

I've deleted 2256.48 and now running 2256.71. This is used on the trusty Windows 7 Professional.

As a matter of interest, I run another device now running Windows 10 anniversary update (64-bit). I received only the ONE Opera desktop update on that machine, 2256.71 so am now running that update.

I'm uncertain if I should delete 2256.71(underscore)0 or leave it in place for now?

Thanks for your speedy reply. I've been an Opera user way back to version 3 used on my then Nokia 3330, and the Opera browsers have got better with each version. Opera has been my primary browser on every device since all those years ago.

Thank you Opera team and I look forward to version 40, and I may at some point be interested in assisting with the developer version.

Just leave it there. If it isn't removed after a couple of updates, then you can manually delete it.
