How do I access advanced tab settings in opera 20?

Where did all the advanced settings go? In Opera 12 there were tons of options to customize the tab interface. For instance, you could decide whether the newest or oldest tab opened after you closed a tab, or you could choose if tabs were opened adjacent to the current window or at the end of the list, etc.
I can't find any of this, or any of the advanced settings, in the new Settings view.
I've search on-line, and everything on-line tells me that in Opera 20 I should go to Preferences > Advanced
Well, there is no "Preferences" that I can find? Where is it?

One feature I found extremely useful, something I used hourly, was the drop-down arrow in the upper left that would show the history of all recently closed tabs. How do I re-enable that? I see that you can access the recently closed from the opera menu, but it was quite convenient to have that pull down right there all the time.
Also, where's the zoom slider? Same deal, it's in the opera menu, but it was much more convenient directly accessible.
And what happened to having separate "open tab" and 'open tab in background" options when you right-clicked on a link? I used that distinction all the time.
One of the main reasons I give to other people why Opera is better than the rest and they should try it is the extreme amount of customization of the tabbing that's available.
All the other browsers, firefox, IE, chrome, etc, either do some thing "wrong" by my preferences, or just give you barebones. Opera let you setup tabbing the way you liked it.
The other key reason is that browsers like IE, firefox, and chrome were enormous memory hogs. I installed 4 gigs of ram, and chrome uses up 3gig for itself, leaving nothing left for photoshop. IE has no support for XP anymore. And firefox is just all wrong in terms of usability. And IE would bring a 1gig ram system to a screetching halt with two tabs open.

Nowhere, those settings aren't available yet.

You don't, Opera Blink doesn't have it.
Also, where's the zoom slider
On the Menu. You can also use keyboard shortcuts do zoon in/out.

better question is, can you disable Tabs in the new Opera? I know IE is constantly trying to force people to use tabs. You can still partially disable them there. In Opera 11.x which I use, tabs can be turned off.

Not at all trying to be argumentative, but why does running the browser with a linear page sequence in a single window or with multiple windows open seem better for you than running the browser with multiple tabs? I'm honestly curious.
