How about some HELP?

I have to replace my Harddrive. All I want to know is how can I save my speeddial or Bookmarks so that I can put them on the new Harddrive. Is there a folder somewhere that they are stored in? Somewhere I read that you have to enable SYNC. Seems like a stupid answer. Not only do I not know how to enable Sync; I have no other devices to Sync to. I wish people would stop assuming that everyone knows what the hell that they are talking about, that everyone has other devices and that everyone is part of some social network. Any help would be appreciated, because I am very disappointed that Opera doesn't offer Help info about this.

Well hey guy, take it out on us. That will show all those jerks what jerks they have been being!
Opera has a profile folder. All of your bookmarks and such are stored there. If you insatlled Opera in the standard manner it should be something like this:
C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Stable
XXXXX will be your user name. Inside that folder you will find a file named 'bookmarks' with no extension. That is your bookmarks storage location.
This information is for the current version of Opera, version 38. If you are running a different version that information may not be accurate. Since you didn't tell us when version you are using that all the help I can give at this time.

You don't need a second device to enable Sync.

As the help page would show you, they are stored on files located in Opera's profile folder whose path can be found in Menu > About Opera.
Both Speed Dials and Bookmarks are stored in the same file.

Hmm. Just copied from one computer to another (Win 10, Opera 38.xx) where I had installed Opera brand new and I still have the default speed dial.
Is there another file needed?

You'll probably find the set of Speed Dial entries you want under "Other Speed Dials" in the Bookmarks Manager.
Just copy and paste the whole lot into the Speed Dial folder, after clearing it first of the default entries.

I have a similar problem, installing Opera on a new PC. I have copied over the bookmarks folder and all bookmarks are on the new HD. However, the speed dial on the new install is empty, just the "Plus" sign. What did I do wrong? I did not find a speed dial folder nor a speed dial file to copy.
Also how do I copy over all the login info?
Thanks,Ed

What bookmarks folder? You need the Bookmarks files (Bookmarks and Bookmarks Extra) from Opera's profile folder.
However, the speed dial on the new install is empty, just the "Plus" sign. What did I do wrong?
Nothing. As the comment above yours said, they are probably in the 'Other Speed Dials' folder in the bookmarks manager.
I did not find a speed dial folder nor a speed dial file to copy.
Did you read the entire topic? Speed Dials are part of bookmarks and therefore are stored in Bookmarks file.

Sorry, didn't mean to say folder, wanted to say file.
Yes, they are in the Other Speed Dials folder in the bookmarks manager. How do I open them on the start page?

I guess I'm getting confused now also. I know that on my new Opera install I can go to the bookmarks mgr and under "Other Speed Dials" I can see my speed dial from the desktop computer.
But I think I wanted what the OP wanted, a way to copy the speed dial from one computer to another.
I have tried copying the bookmarks and bookmarksextra files but that has not accomplished anything.

Yes, they are in the Other Speed Dials folder in the bookmarks manager. How do I open them on the start page? You need to copy them using the Bookmarks Manager from the "Other Speed Dials" folder to the "Speed Dial" folder, as I said earlier.
It's the entries in the latter folder that are actually displayed as the "start page".
If it has the default Speed Dial entries in it at the moment, delete them all, and then copy and paste the set of Speed Dial entries that you want over to the folder.
That should be it.

Go to the Other Speed Dials page. Then...
Ctrl-a
Ctrl-cGo to the speed dial bookmark and
Ctrl-v

OK, got it now, thanks a bunch.
Now, my last question: how do I copy the login info from one PC to the other?
-

Assuming you mean your Opera Sync login, why do you need to do that?
Just login to your account again from the installation of Opera on the new PC.
You may be asked for your operating system login as it's a different machine.

No, I do not mean any Sync Login, I don't even know what that is.
I'm talking about the user names, passwords for certain websites that Opera stores somewhere. -

You enable Sync and then password synchronisation.
You can't manually copy the login info file from one computer to another because it will not work, since the file is encrypted using your OS account info.

I have no idea what you are talking about, sorry.
