    Sync not working. How to recover bookmarks

      So I have recently formatted my PC and I didn't export my bookmarks cause i thought Opera Sync would do the job for me but NO. So know i use a recovery tool to retrieve the bookmarks from the opera folder but there are more than one file named bookmarks like bookmark.bak or bookmarks.What should i do ?

        The one named just bookmarks is the main bookmarks file. Bookmarks.bak is a backup. As for why sync is not working we will need greater details then you provided to troubleshoot that.

            Like if Sync was enabled before you have formatted your HDD and, if yes, what happened when you enabled it on the new installation?

            Nothing was synced or just part of it? The bookmarks manager shows something?

              It was enabled and after the installation i just logged in and it said sync is enabled and connect to your other devices etc etc etc...But the bookmarks page is empty.

                So i tried to recover the files as soon as possible before it starts to overwrite but i thing i was too slow cause when i open the bookmarks file or the history it only shows the new ones.

                    Nope..It only shows the new ones.What about the recovered files ? Any idea how that could work ?

                      So it seems that Sync wasn't enabled or never worked.

                      What version of Opera was being used before you have formatted the computer and what is being used now?

                      What about the recovered files ?

                      If neither Bookmarks nor Bookmarks.bak copies have your data, then I'm afraid there's nothing much to be done.

                            Was Sync enabled?
                            Sync page shows your data?
                            Do you have a backup of Opera's profile folder content?
