Extensions Sidebar will not stay visible

Hi. I have Opera 37 running on a Win 8 laptop and the extensions sidebar will remain visible if I close Opera and re-start it.
On my Win 7 Pro PC I cannot get it to remain visible.
Any help gratefully received!

Same version of Opera on both? Same settings?

Yup, same settings as far as I can make out, and both using latest version

I've tried here and couldn't be able to keep it visible after a restart.
