I can't tell from here. Either it is installed somewhere that you don't have access rights to, or some anti-malware program is blocking it. Can you add a new bookmark (and have it still there after a restart)?
all bookmark still after a restart but when i put any website in speed dial from bookmark or from speed dial page directly disappear when i restart opera

Hi, Same problem here... Tried Clean Installation but it didn't work, maybe also good to note is that my Theme goes back to default when I restart the computer. I tried previous versions of Opera, but this still happens so I guess it's a program on my PC itself thats doing this, tried a malware scan but nothing came up... My Bookmarks however do stay the same.

Maybe also interesting to note is that all the 'Zoom' and other settings have been reset as well...

Hi,
I have been using Opera for a month just fine, but now also getting this problem. When I open brower it says:
YOUR PREFERENCE FILES CANNOT BE READ. SOME FEATURES MAY BE UNAVAILABLE AND CHANGES TO SETTINGS WILL NOT BE SAVED.

It seems an issue other than the one subject of this topic. Please read this guide and open a new topic following it.

Speed dial and add-ons gone too
I will try to inspect, maybe it is still on the drive path.
Menu->About-> Paths...

open a new tab,
Click the heart icon on the left of the screen (bookmark),
When a window appears, click on "OTHER SPEED DIAL"
Explore the folders that matches your previous speed dial settings. Oh, try to find a way to navigate on the right screen, not on the left, somehow when you try to navigate on the left side it does not show.
when you found the matching speed dial setting... select all, copy and paste it in the main speed dial..
Somehow this works so far. I dont know about the add-ons, maybe just re install them...

It works for some time, but later on, I have to open the bookmarks to get the old speed dials back.

@malek2015 The reason is simple and it surprises me how many people don't understand the question.
This is the correct answer
Speed dial uses a cookie and when you do a clean up with another program the cookies are removed and so it defaults back to the basic settings or even asks you to rejoin .
Thats it, find the cookie put it on the white list and your done.
