  • Hi, im a new Opera (34) user.

I can't find a clear answer to this problem:

I use (system partition, like C:/) imaging extensivly, reload a latest image several times a day, my desktop and other dynamic userfolders reside on a second partition.

Formerly using IE i have set my default favorites folder on the second partition so i dont have to update the favorites etc. every time i revert to a fresh systemimage.

How to set the path for the Opera bookmarks file to my second partition/folder, lets say drive D:/Opera Bookmarks

  • IIRC Opera uses the same system as Chrome. So if you find the instructions to pot your profile in a different location for Chrome it should work for Opera.

  • Here you should find a command line to point your profile folder to a different place.

I'm not sure if you can do it only for bookmarks.

  • Great, thanks for the input.

It made me analyse several options.

Not as straight forward as i had expected.
(And more so primarily expected from Opera's ease of config)

In short i chose to junction the Opera dir in Program files(x86) to a portable (usb) install on the secondary partition.

Cleaned up the now obsolete conventional install Opera residu, but leaving the Windows (7x64) assets beeing the default browser setting and more.

There are several reasons for this approach. If one's interested we could eleborate on this, but for now im setting my issue as solved, and testing daily functionality.

    Sofar the results are oke.

    Thanks for the fast reply's!
