Opera 31 crashes on download - EVERY time

I first noticed this using Opera Developer, so I figured it was about time to go stable.
However, this bug is still present in Opera 31 stable. I cannot save attachments in Windows 10 using either regular download (without dialogue) or with the "save as" dialogue.+Holraven+

How many ver. of Opera exist? Opera stable, Opera beta, Opera Developrs,... are there any one more?

Just the three. Opera Developer is basically the alpha channel. Its for introducing major new features for public testing. Opera beta is, as you would expect, the beta channel. Its is for introducing tweaks and other changes to the browser but nothing big like in Developer. Opera Stable is the non-testing release. The 'Gold' release if you will. They don't introduce any tweaks or features that weren't already tested in the other channels, just bugfixes. If you want the most stable performance you go with Opera Stable. If you want bleeding edge features, damn the torpedoes, go with Opera Developer. If you want somewhere in the middle you go with Opera Beta. -

This. I literally used an uninstaller program to take everything off of the computer related to Opera and when I reinstall it, the window does not close (saying file complete) and when I open Opera, it shows all my old favorites and tabs for a split second until it freezes and has to be forced closed through the task manager.

Happening to me as well, every time I download anything. It seems to download well right up to the point it shall save the fully downloaded file. Then it crashes.

Go to Settings and see where it says the default download directory is. Make sure this directory actually exists, and is one you have write access to (not C:\Windows... nor C:\Program Files... or something like that) ... also I've heard of Opera crashing if there are certain foreign characters in the name, so nothing complicated. See if doing that helps.

Download directory and filenames are no problem.
What I see I forgot to mention is: It crashes under Windows 10. (Both my stationary PC and laptop)
It works nice under Windows 7 (Checked at work today) -

Ugh. I'm sickened by how dumb the solution I just found is. I tried changing this from the default (C:\Users[username]\Downloads) to another directory, but I saw the same behavior. Then I decided I'd be a smartass about it and use the Windows 10 "Documents and Settings" shortcut. So I changed my default save directory to the following: C:\Documents and Settings[username]\Downloads
It works. Which is both gratifying and really disappointing because that's a stupid thing to work. That's literally pointing to the exact same folder that "C:\Users[username]\Downloads" was. Why does this work? Why is this so dumb? Bleh. Thank you very much for the help. I'm very glad/bummed that it worked out.
