HOW TO CHANGE URL SET IN "Enter the URL you want to be opened when a new tab is created below"???

I installed Opera, and when i created a new tab, was asked, "Enter the URL you want to be opened when a new tab is created below". I mistakenly entered an incorrect URL, so now every single time I create a new tab this broken URL is loaded. Where on earth are the settings that would allow me to change this?
I looked under Settings, but this is ridiculous: where ARE all the settings? There are like three things in there. This can't be everything?

Also, I read somewhere that there is supposed to be a button that would allow me to access Speed Dial settings. It was supposed to be somewhere on the Speed Dial itself, but there is nothing there that looks anything like a settings button. Puzzled again.
I really like Opera, but these new versions, in which the developers are just stripping out everything logical and straightforward, are frustrating to say the least. Minimalism is cool, but so is functionality.

You mean like Opera menu - Settings - On startup - Open a specific page or set of pages - Set pages?

I think I might have a problem with my installation, because when I click "Advanced settings" in Preferences, nothing extra is shown. Definitely nothing related to tabs, as mentioned here:
"For additional options for customizing tabs, click Additional tab options.
On the Additional Tab Options dialog box, you can specify the behavior of New tabs, Allow window with no tabs, choose to Show close button on each tab, or even to Open windows instead of tabs."
Version: 30.0.1835.125 - Opera is up to date
Update stream: Stable
System: Windows 7 64-bit (WoW64) -

Whoops, I didn't notice that the article was about an old version of Opera. Strange though that they seem to have reduced functionality over time. It's still my favourite browser though, by far, so I shouldn't really complain
[except for this one little thing: what in God's name possessed the developers to completely destroy the bookmarks system? Clicking Ctrl+D, to add a bookmark, no longer allows you to simply navigate through a nice tree structure to the folder you wish to bookmark the page in (like in every the old skool, logical browser). Now it just dumps it in "Unsorted bookmarks". This is a terrible step back in functionality. rant mode off]
No, I didn't mean like Opera menu > Settings > On startup > Open a specific page or set of pages > Set pages, but rather: being able to set which page gets opened after you create a new tab (i.e., click Ctrl+T).
Indeed, it must've been an extension. In any case, I uninstalled Opera, and reinstalled it, and am now not being asked that question when I create a new tab. When I create a new tab, now the Speed Dial simply pops up, as intended.

You need to read up on the transition from Opera 12 to Opera 15. Then you will understand why so much changed. The TL;DR version is the Opera 12 and Opera 15 and up share no code and are basically unrelated programs.

Thanks for the tip. Just did a bit of reading, and I see what you mean. Quite a story! Am very curious about Vivaldi (which I just installed to have a look at).
I do like a lot of the new stuff in the latest versions of Opera, but I really need bookmarks to work normally in my browser, among a few other things.
