      Hello,

      I am actually in Taiwan and Opera decided to use google taiwan without my agreement.
      Of course, my search results are now less pertinent, even wikipedia is chinese by default.
      Note that my computer & opera are completely in my native language, not in chinese.

      My question is :

      • How can I force opera to use google.com or google.fr when I search directly from address bar or google bar from speedial ?

      When Opera will allow use to manage the default search engines !!!??

      Thanks for your help.
      John

        Try change the computer's/OS region/local.

        Note that some sites may redirect you based on your IP address.

          There is a setting in the text file "Local State" where Opera stores your location, we had a user in the old forums who had traveled to another country and returned who was getting a completely wrong version of Google - I suggested changing that setting and he said it worked.

          Here is what it looks like in my settings:

            "location": {
                "country": "us",
                "country_from_server": "US",
                "timestamp": "1384558601600000000"
             },

          Not sure about the timestamp - he reported that it didn't seem to matter, so just try changing the other two as in my settings (for a US location you'd get google.com) and see what it does for you.
