We are happy to announce that we have just released Opera 30.
We’re continuing to add features to our sync service, and, this time, we’ve added a way to sync Speed Dials across your devices. You can read more about this on our blog.
We hope this release will be the most stable version of Opera for Android to date, as we have spent extra effort chasing down stability issues. This release contains:
- Speed Dial synchronization
- New context menus
- Native Android text-selection menu
- Updated video controls
- A Chromium upgrade to version 43
- Various stability and usability improvements
The update has been pushed to Google Play and should be available very soon. Please download Opera 30 for Android from Google Play and tell us what you think.
As of this release, Chromium will no longer support Android ICS (4.0.x), but users with an older device can still download Opera 29.

Do not synchronize passwords.
Hi kazancevlesha
We are planning to add passwords to sync in upcoming releases (not set which one, but soon :))

I am looking forward to Opera adding passwords to sync, however I can understand the security concern some people may have for doing this. If passwords are added to sync there should be an option to select what items are synchronized such as passwords for those that are opposed to this (I am NOT opposed to this ).

I think that the new context menus are too big and ugly, why this change?
And I don't think that the native Android text-selection menu is an improvement.
Now we have to go to the top of the screen when before we had options near the selection. Two steps back.

For peace in world and for our satisfaction Opera must continue support all versions of Android!
Google dropped the support of Chromium for ICS, what Opera could do?
What relationship have Opera to Chrome and Google?
If Google hits the head of the wall Opera will repeat like monkey?

What relationship have Opera to Chrome and Google?
Opera's engine is based on Chromium.
For peace in world and for our satisfaction Opera must continue support all versions of Android!
This is impossible, it'd bloat the code so much with many version-specific workarounds (because of lack of APIs or outdated ones) and ruin the experience/performance for people on newer versions of Android.
This is like wanting modern software to work on Windows 98 or XP.There's no such thing as "continue support all versions of Android": Froyo and Gingerbread were already dropped, and now it's ICS turn. :|
Don't get me wrong, my phone was dropped too and it's weird to think the OEM left it in 4.0.3 when it surely is capable of supporting 4.1 and up hardware-wise. Luckily there's a fairly good CyanogenMod-based KitKat ROM I'm using in it now... -

Hi
We have just released a stability and bugfix update on Opera 30 for Android.
Its available on Google Play or alternatively you can download the apk file here.
It includes fixes for:
- Crash when navigating back from interstitial security warnings
- Crash(es) when Opera is opened from other apps, i.e. intents (could happen on slower devices)
- Video controls aren't removed on live video streams
- No context menu option to download videos
- Unable to click search suggestions on LG G3 devices
- Double address bars is displayed when selecting text on some LG devices
- Graphical artifacts/corruption on webpages for Adreno 4.* devices
- Progress bar animation issues
Note: As some of you may have noticed, we have also removed the option to download videos on YouTube.com We have to do this to follow Google Play policies and we are sorry for the inconvenience. It means that the download button and the context menu option has been removed from YouTube videos, but nowhere else.
On any other video source, the download button will still be available as long as it uses the Opera video controls. If the site uses custom video controls, you can long press the video area to get a context menu option to download. (Please note that a website may choose to hide the context menu or show its own custom context)
Enjoy and have a great summer!
