SpeedDial not recognizing old file after reinstall of 12.17

I've done a number of reinstalls of Opera over the years and never seen this: copied over speeddial.ini after a clean reinstall today, but old SD is not recognized; i.e., the page is completely blank except for the search field and wrench up in the corner. And when I add a thumbnail now, it goes into the middle of the page instead of top left. There's never been a setting before I know of for any of this. Anyone got an ideas what might be going on and how to fix it? Thanks,

There are settings for number of rows, but unless you've set it for 1 row it shouldn't be centered ...

Are you sure you copied over the right file? Maybe your original was damaged somehow ...

No, row = 6. After a couple of reboots, I copied it over and it's loading. Makes you wonder... Thanks.
