How to prevent Opera 31 from reopening previous tabs upon restart

Hello everyone
When Opera 12 crashes (either by itself or because I kill the task), the next time I start Opera it gives me the choice of whether I want to reload all previously opened tabs, or just start with a single tab. This is particularly useful if a crash was caused by or was prompted by a misbehaving web page or by having accidentally opened too many tabs with lots of high-res content on them. Does Opera 31 have a similar function? When Opera 31 crashes, and I rerun it, it simply reopens all tabs again.

The feature you are talking about was Opera 12's built in Sessions Manager. Newer versions of Opera don't have a built in session but there are extensions that add the feature. I use Session Buddy myself and it completely blows Opera's old manager out of the water.

I've had a look at a few session managers, but none of them provide the functionality that I mention in my initial post, namely to allow me to select whether or not I want to start with no tabs when I start Opera.
None of the session managers that I tried have any effect on which tabs automatically load when Opera starts, and none of the ones that I tried will replace existing tabs with the tabs from the session (I created a "session" consisting of only the speed dial, but if I select that session, they all just load the speed dial in an additional tab).
It would seem that the best solution is to install something like Close and Clean (https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/close-clean/) and hope that you can click the close-and-clean button quickly enough when you restart Opera after a crash, to remove all tabs. Close and Clean closes tabs one by one, unfortunately (not all at once)

You don't need it. If Opera "31" crashes twice or more times in a row it'll automatically reset and open fresh with no tabs.

Thanks for that information, Rafaelluik. I tried crashing Opera 31 in various ways (e.g. AutoIt scripts, Windows Task Manager, Dariusz Stanislawek's Taskill, etc) but the only way that causes it to open with no tabs after two crashes is if I do a hard reset of the computer itself while Opera is running.

You have to download "Download Chrome Extension" first to enable Chrome extensions in Opera
