Or I should say, it will not allow you to edit any of the Default search engines.
Is there a way to edit a disk file with a configuration anywhere?

The search string for Google to remove autocomplete, set for 50 results, and not instant results.

Not if you search from Opera.
I created another search engine entry, but it is so hard to remember to type "z string" instead of "g string".
Although, at some point I was able to edit these strings. I have a custom amazon search that has somehow replaced the default amazon under "q search".

Not if you search from Opera.
Regarding results, i don't see any difference between searchs from Opera's address bar or context menu and the ones from Google's page.
And i just made a test and was able to change the number of results per page in "search settings" in Google page, turning off instant results.

So, no way to change the default Opera string? Or change the "g" to another search engine? We certainly should be able to change that to get the results we want. After all - that is the whole point of baking searches into the browser.
