Can someone remind me how to enable the search bar that will show the search engines I have set, this shows up just below the Bookmark Bar, and I accidently enabled it but now it's gone.
Thanks

uh oh, sorry.
Opera 31/174 Windows 7.
I know you can bring it up, because I did it inadvertently with a keyboard shortcut that I don't remember.

It doesn't have a search bar.
Ok, but I had a long discussion here previously about this "bar" contained in earlier versions of O, before 31...and what we discussed was why New Opera didn't have the drop down search box that is contained in O12.17. What that person told me was how to display a horizontal bar below the Bookmarks bar...and my problem was that it only displayed a certain number of search engines.
So, then my question becomes, WAS there that bar in earlier versions of New Opera.
Sorry for being so obtuse, I have searched here in the forum for that discussion and can't seem to find it.

Presto has a search box.
Now from what you're talking about, I assume you had the Find in Page box: it must be similar in all browsers, the shortcut triggering it being
Ctrl^F
(Esc
to exit/lose the mode). -

And no, not about the find in page either.
What I saw when I inadvertently hit that key combination was a bar that appeared below the Bookmarks bar, that had a empty search text box and to the right of it were the icons of maybe 10 of my search engines to click on. O31, not O12.17. Not sure why I can't find that discussion I had here about implementing the kind of search dropdown we had in O12

Click in your address bar, hit the down arrow on your keyboard, did it look similar to that?

lando, I do not see any arrow in my address bar, and I know that is will drop down and show me my history.
What I saw 2 days ago (inadvertently after a keyboard shortcut) and implemented a few months ago was a long (the entire width of O31) horizontal bar below the Bookmark Bar, that had a text box on the left, and about 10 search engine icons and named to the left of that. I do not think I am losing my mind, and I KNOW I was shown a way to display that in the past in a previous version (not Presto) because the whole topic was about how to kind of do the same thing Presto does with the search drop down box with the text box at the top.
Sorry for being obtuse.

Try finding some shortcut settings in the browser settings (no idea if there are any there - for ain't using this NeOpera). It might be some show/don't show search or something, or perhaps shortcuts to some engines to activate&search, no idea.
Just guessing... -

Ok, I found the discussion(s)::
https://forums.opera.com/topic/4823/adding-and-configuring-search-engines
and
https://forums.opera.com/topic/10686/separate-search-box-i-want-it-back
and in that there is a note that says "When you start typing on the address bar, Opera shows a line with the available search engines."
Now I see that when you start typing in the address bar, at the VERy bottom of the drop down box is a horizontal line of other search engines you can click on.
My complaint back then - and now - was that it only show 10 search engines, I have many more in my O31.
What I would REALLY like is for developers to allow us to delete some of the "default search engines" that remain constant and not deletable.
