I have Sony Xperia Z3 Compact and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet and the problem occurs on both.

Hi
What happened after you cleared app data? Does Opera work?If Yes it works->
What happens when you sign in to sync after that to retrieve all your bookmarks etc again?Does it work or start breaking here?
or is it only when updating Opera while logged into sync?

After clearing the app data Opera starts working again. I tried logging in to sync on the phone and not logging in on the tablet. Sync worked on the phone at this point with no problems. However, it makes no difference after Opera is updated if sync was enabled or not - Opera starts crashing on both devices.

operamilleson last edited by@petersl, do you mean it startup crash on a fresh install (i.e. clearing the app data or un-installing and installing) on both your devices?

@operamilleson Updating an existing Opera installation through Google Play Store makes Opera start crashing, clearing the app data or un-installing and installing is the only way I can make it work again.

I have same problem, too!
After Opera upgrades, nothing opens. Screen stays white. I just didn't notice any crash. If I delete data, it starts work again, but I lose all of my settings.I use Samsung Galaxy S5 with Cyanogenmod on it.
