We are happy to announce that we have just released Opera 32. This latest version of Opera for Android is full of new features and improvements, so let's get started.

In the new version, you can add all of your favorite web apps and sites to the home screen of your Android device. To read more about it, check out https://dev.opera.com/blog/installable-web-apps .

We also improved the sync experience. This time around, we introduced a way to sync your typed history across devices.

In addition, we added a new way to refresh. Simply drag down the top of the page.

This release includes the following changes:

• Add to home screen functionality
• Synced typed history
• The "pull to refresh" gesture
• A new pulsing animation for the progress bar
• High resolution images in the Discover feature
• A Chromium upgrade to version 45
• Various UI, stability and usability improvements

The update has been pushed to Google Play and should be available very soon. Please download Opera 32 for Android and leave us your feedback. We hope you like it!

Were you able to reproduce this bug that jasonvot and I are experiencing?

Right, tested on multiple devices running the Opera Beta and was unsuccessful at reproducing this. What version of android are you running and what kind of device are you using?

Can you try install the new Opera Mini? They also have sync enabled, and if that is working I'll at least have a lead at where to look.

Sorry for not responding sooner, we understand that this is a problem for a lot of you. We will provide this functionality in our next beta release, we will let you know when it's added.

If you are using tablet ui you can access your synced speed dials by going to the start page, clicking the Opera 'O' and there will be a button that looks like a monitor with two arrows and some boxes. If you click that button you can see all the speed dials from your other devices.

From there you can import any speed dial(s) you want to your home screen.

Seems there is some confusion (or disagreement) how speed dial sync is handled, let me clarify how it works and why we decided to implement it this way.

The speed-dials you have in Opera Desktop is usually not the same as the ones you have for your Opera for Android device. We opted for a way to let users access their speed dials on any device without forcing you to have the same speed dials on each device.

So you can still access all your speed dials from all your devices, but this way it's possible for you to have device specific speed dials. You can still easily access speed dials from other devices by clicking the 'Other speed dials' button, and if you want to you can import from one device to another.

Thanks @personal1985. Trust us it's important for us that the browsing experience should be smooth for our users.

Everyone else that are asking about the data savings button and home tab logic, both of these issues are under review and we are looking at improving the user experience in both of these cases.

Ok I see. The most likely reason for this is the Chromium backend has changed in some way causing this to break, since it's also broken in Chrome for Android.

If you are using mobile user agent string the page is working as intended, is this something you could try in the meanwhile while we are looking into this issue?

The flag you mention are for the desktop product, not Opera for Android.

Yes this is by design. The home page is a static tab, so you will always have at least one tab open.

We know this was a deviation from the previous behavior and it might be confusing to users. The interaction is currently under review, where we are investigating where to take this.

I meant it that way you should set up som UI concept and go along with it and not every (not bug fix) update change layuot of features and controls...

@mrninko, I assure you that we do fix bugs as well, but yes UI changes, Chromium upgrade, and features have had higher priority for this release.

Regarding UI we are closing in on where we want to be, but there are likely some more changes coming up in the next few releases next year. I hope you can bear with us while we are working on this. And please continue give feedback in here, it might seem like we don't listen, or fix every issue reported, but your voices are heard and affect where the product will head.

Could you please STOP changing UI every (not bug fix) update? It's starting to be annoying a lot!! Do you even know what you want?

@mrninko, the changes we are doing is because of user feedback. We are continuously working on improving the user experience and stability of the product. But we hear you, there have been a lot of changes lately. We hope that the changes we are doing will make it easier for you to use the browser.

What kind of device are you using and Android version? Does the browser freeze or is it the content of the page that you can't interact with?

I tried loading drive on my device, Samsung S6 Android 6.0, and the page loads and I can open files as expected.

@cubot We moved setting default search engine to Settings. You can find it under 'Advanced'.

Edit: Some context why we did this. We noticed that a common user behaviour was that users selected a search engine just once, like IMDb, and then switched back. But we also wanted to allow people to change default search engine.
