Why not add NOTES like in old opera

Hello Dear Developers. This question is bothering me for a long time. And this is the thing that stops me of using new opera instead of old opera 12.14.

Probably someone using that stuff or you think its just a waste of time? All old versions of opera had that extension and new one doesn't.

The new one has notes too, you just have to search for it in add-ons store. Now Opera will have a side bar with extensions, and already have notes extension for it.

sidebar extensions are visible only in beta and developer
in stable you can see them only with direct link, and to use them, sidebar flag must be enabled -

This thread is helpful on getting notes now.
https://forums.opera.com/post/75354
You need this extension/add-on --
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/v7-notes/?display=en
Now the V7 Notes extension is very similar to what was in Opera Presto. Now it needs a sidebar to operate, which is in development, but you can get it to work now, by activating it in Opera:\flags. And then open the sidebar in Menu/extensions/sidebar.
The instructions are in the thread. I have the V7 notes extension working in Opera 29 now, and it's quite good.

Is there an app that can fetch the notes you have on Opera Link? So you can edit them properly, and not on that mess that is Opera Link.

But what happens to the notes I had stored in my previous version? I had opera for windows in an old computer, and now that I installed it in mac and synced, all my notes are gone! I have the add-on, but it doesn't import the old info. Got any idea on how I can get it back???

See http://www.opera.com/help/account#sync to see what is synced. More things are being synced in upcoming versions, but I do not think notes, which is really an extension, is on the agenda.

Notes do not transfer from Opera 12 to newer versions. Also Opera link and Opera Sync do not speak with each other. Opera Link is made for Presto based versions of Opera and Sync is made for Blink based versions of Opera.

Opera 12 (Presto) had a built-in feature where you could highlight text on a webpage, then right-click it and choose:
Search
Search With >
Copy
Copy to Note
Dictionary
Encyclopedia
Translate >
Go to Web Address
Send by Mail
The Copy to Note feature saved the text to the browser in such a way that it could be opened and viewed in the browser itself, without the need for a text application like Word. It was also stored in Opera Link and could be viewed from Opera 12 on any device linked to your personal account. So my questions are: Does the new Opera have any extensions that mimic these abilities? If so, what are they? If not, why not?

Basically yes. You can't store them in Opera Sync as it is not made for them, though. Take a look at the V7 Notes extension.
If not, why not?
Generally, if there isn't an extension that does what you want it is because someone hasn't developed it yet. The Opera dev team doesn't make extensions so its up to outside developers to create them.
