Opera 27 - Speed Dial more like Slow Dial

Ever since version 27 came out the thumbnail loading on speed dial, at start up, has been awfully slow. It loads the images one at a time. On version 26 it was all there at the start, no loading. I found something related on the forum, and tried to work around with the: opera://flags/ -> experimental start page - enabled, but it doesn't work.
There have been 3 or more patches since 27, some issues got resolved, but this didn't. If some developer sees this, please work on it and fix it in the next patch. It does not impede the performance or navigation, but it gives the browser a slow, clunky feeling. -

"Slow Dial" I stayed with Opera 26... waiting for real "Speed Dial"... but as you said patches of Opera 27 do not change this. More over, versions 28 and 29 also have this "Slow Dial".

Good news! In Opera 29.0.1794.0 speed dial is again "fast"...
I have a question: how to transfer navigation bar (with: "SpeedDial", "Bookmarks", "Discover", "Tabs", "History") to the left? Better and more comfortable fro me is to have it there than at the bottom of SpeedDial page. Please help me -

my speed dial is taking 45 seconds to load at opera startup (i use it for my opera startup screen). version 28.0.1750.48
i do not have any sites saved to my speed dial, they are blank. and the 45 seconds, that is only for speed dial load, not opera load. opera loads (which i did not time), then comes up with blank white screen, then you wait for 45 seconds, then speed dial appears. ouch. this should be focused on, 'cuz it makes opera unusable to someone who opens and closes their browsers a lot.

Try this. Go into your profile folder (you can find its location in About Opera) and find the three files that start with session and delete them.

Cool, after delete that files my O28 started for 8 sec (on old P4, 1 GB ram). Unfortunately, 3 session files are again autocreated...

As Leocg says, they are part of Opera. From what I've been able to figure they are part of the 'continue where I left off' option in settings. Not using that seems to help some people. Baring that just delete them every now and again. It seems to be that some people have problems if they get above a certain size but we haven't yet tracked down why.

thanks, it worked. nice and zippy to start now. hope they find the issue and fix it soon, most people won't be bothered to do this.
