Link passwords wont sync after link password change

Hi I have a problem. I had to reinstall my OS. I was using link to sync my opera but I have forgotten my old password, so I've changed it (by restoring via email). But after installing opera, it wont sync any passwords because it wants the old password. If I knew it, I would not change it. How can I fix this problem ? Can someone help me ?

Probably not - the data is encrypted to your old password and they can't read it without that. Did you backup your data before reinstalling?

Yes, I have backed up whole home folder.

If you backed up your profile, you can drop all of it except operaprefs.ini into the new install and it'll all just work. Except of course Sync, since you changed the password.

Hello, i dont want open new topic, just for my issue.

Im currently on Opera 12.x on my old PC and soon Im going to new PC and newsest version of Opera.

What is the easiest way to transfer everything I can, especially passwords.

Whick folder EXACTLY I hae to back up? And which files to copy in which new folder on new PC (file names are still the same??)

Opera should import your data. Just install Opera 12.17 before and make it the default browser.

Note: Opera Blink (Opera 15+) is not compatible with Opera Presto, so copy the files won't help.

If you want to keep using Opera Presto, backup your profile folder. See Help > About for the path. Then install Opera Presto on the new pc and copy the files to the new profile folder.
