You can get your bookmarks to display in a menu rather than the bookmark bar by using the extension called Tidy Bookmarks, available from the Chrome store. First, however, you will need to get the Download Chrome extension in order to make use of the Chrome extensions.

Exactly. Here's a link to Neater Bookmarks, Neater Bookmarks, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/neater-bookmarks/ofgjggbjanlhbgaemjbkiegeebmccifi?hl=en-US

Yes, that's a good idea, leushino.

Chrookmarks for Chrome is also good, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrookmarks-chrome-bookma/kcdheengilgkagjehknnnofigbmlnnfj?hl=en-US,
so you can try them both and decide which one you prefer as a bookmarks manager extension.
You do need that Opera Extension called Download Chrome Extension,
        https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en
        or Extension Source Viewer, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/extension-source-viewer/
in order to download either of these Chrome Extensions.

Then, assuming you want to conceal the horizontal personal bookmarks bar, go Alt P --for settings, and under User Interface, take the check out of "Show Bookmarks Bar."
You'll have an icon on the icon bar representing your Bookmarks Manager Extension, and like a menu, click on it, and your Bookmarks will display vertically. And you won't be wasting all of that horizontal space with the Personal Bookmarks Bar.

Okay i'm not happy with this new opera, i don't have the option of importing bookmarks. There is not icons on the bottom left side on my browser. i should not have to manually go into every single page i exported to a file on my desktop just to view it on opera and then save it as a bookmark. This is a very serious issue with me and will negativity affect how i think about this browser.

For bookmarks, I have been using XMarks to sync them across all my browsers for ages now. No more export/import when shifting browser(as long as the browser has the xmarks extension available)

Bookmarks BAR IS NOT BOOKMARKS. Do you see the DIFFERENCE between this things?

                  Do you ?.

I have all my bookmarks from Firefox in Opera 23, the few hundreds of them all there under a folder in the bookmark bar. Heck, the bookmark bar is exactly the same as it is in FF and Chrome.

So, it looks like bookmarks, works like bookmarks, make no sounds like bookmarks, so they must be bookmarks. So, yes there are bookmarks support in Opera 23.

No need to try to be rude btw, it brings nothing to the conversation.

You can't, you need to open the pages and add each one to the bookmarks.

Yes. You can drag bookmarks or folders where you want on the personal bookmarks bar. If they're in a folder, you can drag them where you want, or, if you right click on the folder, you can choose to arrange them alphabetically. With a Bookmark Manager extension (like Neater Bookmarks, https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/neater-bookmarks/ofgjggbjanlhbgaemjbkiegeebmccifi?hl=en-US

                              or Chrookmarks for Chrome

you can arrange the bookmark folders and bookmarks alphabetically, or with Chrookmarks for Chrome, alphabetically or chronologically.

To download a Chrome extension easily, you need the Opera extension, called Download Chrome Extension, https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/download-chrome-extension-9/?display=en

Not that I'm aware of. Obviously the only place it could be would be the Opera Add-on store.

                                  https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/?ref=menu

A search for Stash there comes up with nothing.

If you go to your profile, the main Stash file is called Stash.db. It takes up way more space than the bookmark file. It seems to be saving a lot more information. Now obviously when you click on a Stash item, you do go to the website, so the address is in that file. But I'm aware of no way to easily make the change you want from Stash to a bookmark.

@sydneyneto: just wait until Opera's bookmarks manager gets refined. Opera will surely make them exchangeable soon.

Ok, I don't know if Opera management is listening but the decision to drop the original bookmarks is one that I see as being a serious mistake. I have thousands of bookmarks from my previous versions of Opera and currently I can not user them.

Organizing your pages as thumbnails is very inefficient and not organized. Why was the decision to allow the user to not opt to choose either the standard or the thumbnail version is completely beyond me.

I have seen the myriad of posts and comment based on the disappointment to get rid of the original bookmark bar and I do agree with them.

My suggestion is to bring back the old bookmark workflow but allow the user to use the new one if the choose. This gives flexibility to the browser and greater functionality.
