Please check the settings mentioned earlier and make sure Off-Road is not enabled in the menu.

There are insufficient instructions on where to find "off-road" mode.. It says "in the main menu found by clicking the top left button" BUT, the main menu of WHAT? I fid no such links or choices. Please be specific as to the program and menu.

Off-road has been renamed back to Opera Turbo in the latest version.

The main menu of Opera, of course.

I updated Opera recently to v22 and got that annoying "Click to run" option. I also noticed that the option for Opera turbo was activated. I just turned it off and restarted Opera and it works flawlessly now.

Exactly, the activation of Opera Turbo causes that "Click to run" option.

Have the same problem in Opera and Opera Next. The way I found to reproduce was this.

                        • Wipe everything in APPDATA\Opera
                        • Launch the browser (Opera thinks is a fresh install)
                        • Visit a site that uses flash (YT will do)
                        • Flash loading properly
                        • Activate click to play
                        • Reload YT, click to play is in effect
                        • Add YT to white list. Click to play still in effect
                        • Reset the option to default - run automatically. Click to play is still in effect.

That said there's little to do about because this proves that

                        a) Click to play is broken
                        b) Apparently so do whitelist. Worth checking too.

Hope you guys find this info useful.

                          @fenriraesir

Are you saying all of that is happening to you and you do not have turbo mode activated. It is my understanding that for the vast majority of users (including myself when i activate turbo mode), deactivating turbo mode solves the problem with click to play.

I think this issue is because Opera Turbo might be enable, it happend to me, but I disabled it and later everything was ok playing videos and other stuff with flash.

                              The problem is still on.
I was on limited Internet for a week and was using Opera Turbo to not seplate my transfer quota too fast and now EVERY flash based thing is fucked up.

Apart from bandcamp, vines and many other things this is YET ANOTHER big fail since opera was bought by google <- this is the only option for a good web browser to change to shitty chromium.

That never happened, Opera changed to Blink because was better, fast and compatible. Now the devs spend their resources on innovation and improvements, not fixing compatibilities problems.

THE FIX: After experiencing this issue I clicked on Opera tab (top left) and saw "Opera Turbo"" was checked so I unchecked it. Now Adobe works again.

I experienced the same issue with "Click to run Adobe Flash Player". What I was able to do to resolve that issue was to unclick or dismantle the check mark next to OPERA TURBO on the drop down Opera menu. It immediately worked after completing that process.

I have found that I had Turbo mode selected. When I unticked Turbo, adobe player started automatically as normal. I never understand what "turbo" is supposed to do, as I don't notice any difference with my snail broadband. Everything seems to be "turbo" these days!

With Turbo enabled the data is sent to Opera's servers where it is compressed and then set to you. It does not speed up your browsing and it is not meant to. Its for people on metered connections or with limited bandwidth. Generally most people don't need it and shouldn't use it.

If it isnt called "off road mode" then its "Opera turbo." SO annoying.
