How do I get rid of or replace the Google search on the Speed Dial? I added DuckDuckGo to my search engines, but Speed Dial still shows and uses Google?

You can't switch that search bar to another search engine, but you can easily hide the search bar on the Speed Dial page by going into Power User Mode.
You go to Settings (Alt P) and then click once outside the search bar there. And then to enable the power user mode press the following key combination while you are on the settings page: "Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right b a"
Once in Power User Mode, you will have an option to put a check in "Hide the Search Box in the Speed Dial."

It worked. Thank you. I will use the Ultimate Search extension for my searches.

It didn't work for me -- I got into being a power user (or so it said) but there is no option to hide anything. Is this Apple software? No options and no choices? I have had nothing but problems setting this up. I have spent hours and it is still not ready to use!!

Remember when you go to Settings (Alt. P) to click outside the search bar first. That one step is important.
Then when you do the rest, starting with the arrow keys, it should work. Once you enter Power User Mode, go over the choices carefully. Hiding the search engine is there. No, this is not Apple Software.

Yayyy again!
After using this method (I did enable developer options before I got it to work), I was FINALLY able to get the speed dial to actually USE 9 columns and sized the icons as I had them in Opera 12.16.
Thanks AGAIN!
