Older Presto versions of Opera Mobile go completely full screen and do hide the notification bar.

Yes, in settings, turn off 'Status bar'. But you can still view/access the status/notification bar by doing a quick swipe down from the top of the screen.

Please add option to hide status bar.
Kitkat added new fullscreen mode - immersive, which is good to try out too. -

Hi linuxmint7
I am with Opera Mini 7.5.35613 on an android 4.2 galaxy mega. I can hide the status bar but not the opera-mini menu-bar/address bar ( https://forums.opera.com/topic/261/is-full-screen-opera-mini-on-android-4-2-possible ). Could you explain how you could hide the opera-mini menu-bar/address bar please ?
Thanks !

@pierro78, Go to 'O Menu / Settings /' and disable (turn off) 'Status bar' and 'Navigation bar'.
